Mental Illness Is Not a Choice

Mental illnesses are medical conditions which disrupt a person’s thinking, feeling, mood, ability to relate to others, and daily functioning.

Recovery is an individual approach consisting of many pathways and is strength-based and person-driven.

Peer to Peer support groups

NAMI Southwestern Wisconsin offers a support group for persons living with a mental health diagnosis/condition in a safe, organized and confidential environment. The support group is led by people living well in recovery or family members who have been trained to meet NAMI’s high standards.

Participants share opportunities for socialization, develop advocacy skills and gain insights into recovery and wellness issues through shared knowledge.
